''Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. People think it's this veneer - that the designers are handed this box and told, 'Make it look good!' That's not what we think design is. It's not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.''
Steve Jobs
One can only create compelling products and innovative services if one truly understands what needs to be achieved and for whom. As with any patient, a sound diagnosis is required before prescribing the right remedy or course of action. Thus, before starting on any design, clear research and definition of the current and desired situations is paramount. Getting this right means a solid foundation for creating delight and value.
Creating delight & value?
Best to start at the beginning…
Many more factors come into play in creating solid and delightful services and user experience architectures. This site aims to provide an idea of some of these factors. For example, based on over 15 years of experience, I firmly believe that business model innovation & strategy must be standard practice for service design and UX/IA (User eXperience / Information Architecture).
- The Strategy page shows some methods I use in selecting ideas and innovating business models
- The Design page shows some design and supporting documents I use in concept development and creating compelling user experience. This includes responsive web design and clickable prototypes.
- The About page gives some insight into who I am and how to contact me
- The Past work page has an interactive CV, which allows you to explore some of my past project successes across UX, business innovation and concept development
